Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit

Provides critical care nursing to adult patients with cardiac, thoracic and vascular conditions, with a primary focus on post-operative recovery following cardiovascular surgery. Manages complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring, titrated drips and mechanical support. Demonstrates a high level of professional competency in a fast-paced critical care environment.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing:
  Required
• Cardiovascular or cardiac surgical intensive care nursing experience:
  Required

• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice:
  Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification:
  Required

• Provide post-operative critical care to cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgical patients.
• Perform complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring and interpret results to guide treatment.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and antiarrhythmic infusions per protocol.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and intervene promptly in the event of arrhythmia or instability.
• Manage chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilated patients and other post-surgical devices.
• Collaborate with the cardiovascular surgical team and support patients transitioning to step-down care.
