Job Summary:The Research Assistant III assists with research work tasks of higher-complexity in support of a research project under minimal supervision. May assist with ordering equipment and supplies, set up of equipment, performing experiments, monitoring results, data collection, preparation of support materials, etc. May supervise students and/or other support workers assigned to the research project.

Department Summary:

The Research Assistant III assists with the research and general administration of the Capstone Poll, including assisting with the supervision of Data Clerks. The Capstone Poll is within the Center for Business and Economic Research in the Culverhouse College of Business. It is a survey research unit and offers a variety of services ranging from consulting on specific aspects of survey research to conducting a survey.

Services include sampling design, questionnaire construction, interviewing, data analysis, and presentation of results in a formal written report. Data are collected through telephone interviews, online surveys, written mail, or group-distribution surveys, in-person interviews, and focus groups. Technical reports are tailored to meet the needs of the project or sponsor.

Required

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of research support experience; OR bachelor's degree or higher and some research support experience.
