Job Description

CFD Research has an immediate need for a qualified Full Stack Software Developer to support a variety of different internal and external customers in developing applications and microservices using data, both locally stored as well as in the cloud.

Candidates in the role will work with a diverse set of developers, to deliver strong, stable, and well tested/documented software for a variety of internal and external customers. The candidate will be intimately involved in the design, architecture, and development testing steps of the development process. Successful candidates in this role will utilize best practices to produce high performing, scalable, and secure modules while demonstrating a customer/end user focus.

The candidate will have the opportunity to shape future tasks, developing user stories and tasks from Epics. Successful candidates will have Agile, Dev Ops experience, and an understanding of cloud environments to work collaboratively with other developers, government customers, and contractors.

This role is based at CFD Research office in the Dayton, OH area, and onsite is preferred. There may be opportunity for Telework flexibility (if local to the Dayton, OH area), depending on experience level.

Basic Qualifications
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Top-Secret Clearance
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or similar discipline);
    Master’s Degree is a plus
  • Experience with the majority of the following:
    Python, C#, Rust, C/C++, Java, Docker, NodeJS, Git Flow, Gitlab, UI design using QML, FIGMA, Jira, Kubernetes, React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years or more experience as a Dev Ops Software Engineer working with CI/CD pipelines, build, test, and deployment tools
  • Experience developing native Android and iOS applications
  • Experience in cloud, HPC cluster, and desktop deployment
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns
  • Experience working with frameworks such as Django, Bootstrap, and/or Jumpstart
  • Experience using component libraries such as Tailwind and/or Material UI
  • Familiarity with front-end build tools such as Webpack, Grunt, or Gulp
