Programmer Analyst IV

The University of Alabama is hiring a Programmer Analyst IV. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting complex enterprise software systems and applications to enhance administrative functions. The position requires collaboration with various departments to troubleshoot, respond to issues, and lead technical projects while mentoring junior team members.

• Design, develop, support, and code high-complexity enterprise software systems and workflows.
• Develop reporting and data integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Argos, and Atlassian Cloud Suite.
• Support vendor-supplied software systems including Visix Signage Suites and Boomi iPaaS integrations.
• Act as primary and secondary support for multiple applications and lead moderate to high complexity projects.
• Required expertise in relational databases, SQL, database objects, ETL tools, programming languages (Oracle PL/SQL, Python), and data management principles.
• Manage tasks using Atlassian JIRA; troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues independently.
• Preferred skills include experience with University of Alabama administrative applications, advanced BI analytics, restful APIs, scripting (shell, Powershell, Python), and Git version control.
• Compensation range from $74,200 to $100,200 (Salaried E12).
• Required qualifications vary from a master’s degree with 4 years IT programming experience to high school diploma with 10 years IT experience, including 6 years programming.
• Works within the IT Collaboration & Reporting team supporting campus departments, colleges, and customers.
