Summary of Job

BAS Integrator is responsible for the documentation and software programming for all types of HVAC and process control systems. This position also commissions and trains facility operators. The role integrates multiple facility systems onto a single platform and works with communication protocols including BACnet MSTP, Echelon, Modbus, BACnet IP, and SCADA.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or greater
  • Installation & Commissioning Interoperability of systems
  • Equivalent HVAC Electrical Troubleshooting
  • Equivalent AX Certified
  • Equivalent BAS Advanced Applications Experience in IT networks
Responsibilities
  • Document and program HVAC and process control systems
  • Commission and train facility operators on building automation systems
  • Integrate multiple facility systems into one platform
  • Download, adjust, and perform functional checks of BAS programs
  • Create valve and actuator schedules and maintain contractor relationships
  • Perform test and balance procedures
  • Operate and verify Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
  • Configure IT networks and troubleshoot networking issues
  • Use design software such as AutoCAD for schematic drawings
  • Develop scope of work and maintain project documentation
Technical Skills
  • BAS protocols – knowledge of BACnet MSTP, Echelon, Modbus, BACnet IP, SCADA
  • Electrical – understanding of Ohm’s law and electrical circuits
  • Blueprints – basic concepts of blueprints and schematic drawings
  • HVAC systems – basics of HVAC systems and components
  • Hydronic systems – basics of chilled, condenser and hot water systems
  • Air side systems – basics of variable and constant volume air flows
  • Variable frequency drives – concepts and operational function checks
  • Test and balance – basic concepts of test and balance procedures
  • Control signals – types and capabilities of different control signals
  • IT networks – basics of networking and configuration
  • Design software – working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Microsoft SQL servers – basic understanding
