Business Manager

Oversee all business transactions and personnel matters within the College of Engineering, along with managing day-to-day activities within the Dean's Office. Be able to write and submit proposals for grant and gift applications to industry and governmental agencies.

Job Duties
- Manage external funding from industry and private donors and ensure proper stewardship of funds received. Manage sponsored programs and institutional accounts. Review and approve college acquisitions for purchasing (supplies/equipment/services, etc.), reimbursements, travel and consultant hiring. Assist the dean with staffing and maintaining records of employees. Assist faculty members with pre and post award grant procedures. Serve as the liaison between the dean of the College, faculty, staff and students.

Complete grant applications for industry giving. Submit reports to industry partners to provide updates/outcomes of funding to the College. Generate payroll documentation for the College employees each month and update their work records. Supervise administrative staff. Serve on COE Scholarship committee and ensure all awards are approved and submitted to the Office of Financial Aid. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or any related field (Master's degree preferred). 3 or more years of experience writing and submitting proposals for grant and gift applications to industry and governmental agencies.

Physical Demands
- Ability to walk from building to building to conduct business for the College of Engineering. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to walk short distances. Ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages and other items. Ability to prepare and analyzing data and figures. Ability to view a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Skills and Attributes
- Must be able to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Publisher), Emails. Must be able to use professional phone etiquette. Able to operate copier/scanning machine. Ability to adapt/learn quickly in fast-paced work environment.
