Psychiatrist - Federal Contract

Pay: $225 to $240 per hour Based on Experience

We are hiring Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrists to provide onsite services for Veterans at a federal VA facility in Central Alabama.

This is a long term contract with stable weekday hours and structured on call coverage. You will work alongside an established VA mental health team in a fully supported environment.

• $225 to $240 per hour for regular clinic hours
• Additional compensation for on call coverage
• 40 hours per week
• Federal holidays observed
• Malpractice coverage provided
• Long term contract stability

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Structured on call rotation
• On call response by phone within 15 minutes
• Onsite response within 60 minutes when required

• Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care
• Evaluate and diagnose mental health conditions
• Develop and manage treatment plans
• Medication management
• Complete documentation in VA electronic health record
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams

• 6 to 6.5 bookable patient hours per day
• Mix of one hour and thirty minute appointments
• Severely mentally ill patient population
• Post discharge follow up

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Active unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
• Active DEA registration
• BLS certification
• Ability to meet VA credentialing requirements
