Qualifications & Desired Experience:
  • Certified Special Education Teacher (K-6)
  • Experience supporting students with severe behavioral needs, preferably in a self-contained classroom
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral intervention plan (BIP) and IEP development
  • Prior training or willingness to train in safe student restraint techniques
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs and behavioral plans
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a self-contained classroom
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors using evidence-based interventions
  • Document student progress and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with families, specialists, and other educators
