Instructional Aide
The Instructional Aide plays a vital role in supporting teachers and students in the classroom to ensure a positive and effective learning environment. This position involves working closely with teachers to implement instructional activities, provide academic support to students, and assist with classroom management tasks.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma (required) and at least 48 credit hours earned from a regionally accredited college or university (preferred)
- Previous experience working with children (preferred)
- Fingerprint clearance with the Alabama State Department of Education prior to the start date
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement instructional activities that support student learning objectives
- Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students under the direction of the classroom teacher
- Reinforce concepts taught by the teacher through guided practice activities and reinforcement exercises
- Assist students with completing assignments, homework, and projects
- Offer additional support to students who may need assistance understanding material or completing tasks
- Utilize instructional materials and resources provided by the teacher to reinforce learning concepts
- Assist with maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning
- Reinforce classroom rules and expectations as directed by the teacher
- Help manage student behavior and provide redirection when necessary
- Monitor students during instructional activities, transitions, and breaks
- Assist with ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times
- Escort students to and from various locations within the school building as needed
- Maintain open communication with classroom teachers and other school staff regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns
- Provide feedback to teachers on student performance and participation in instructional activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, principal, and other district administrators

Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities. Ability to be professional in appearance, attitude, and demeanor. Ability to be punctual and comply with a precise work schedule.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Knowledge of child development and especially of characteristics of students in the age group assigned. Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum. Knowledge of current educational research. Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee must also talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use their hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
