Job Summary
- The Director of Tuskegee University Office of International Programs will be fully responsible for the development of an efficient organizational structure with information and resources to serve our partners from abroad efficiently, provide our students from abroad prompt and cordial services and to increase TU visibility abroad. The successful candidate will have to implement measures that match the mixed nature of Tuskegee University academic reach from local community in the black belt counties to international partnerships.

He/she would understand clearly the necessity to vet initiatives through academic administrative officers to ensure congruence between initiatives and requests from other institutions and Tuskegee University policies. The candidate would establish standard operating procedures (SOP) for the unit operations, and that would clearly distinguish between local, national and international partnerships explaining clearly their missions. He/she will develop or utilize databases for efficient retrieval of information required for reports, and would publish critical information on a portal that conforms to current web page building.

The candidate would have a clear understanding of Tuskegee University geographical location, in order to design an operation that is transparent to insiders and outsiders. He/she is to foster a strong and competitive research environment, outstanding teaching skills of the faculty, balancing teaching with other academic loads to ensure permanency of an efficient and friendly student-centered University.

Essential

Job Duties
- Coordinate with Graduate Studies and Research development of the Graduate Forum required of all students. Organize activities as required by academic to inform their constituencies about current, and upcoming opportunities. Build a growing base of qualified leads, establishing effective customer relationships and bring deals to closure. Programs abroad funded by national and/or international outfits in accordance with TU policies and regulations and in line with President's initiatives.

Develop protocols to ensure congruency between the Office of International Programs, Graduate Studies and Research, ODEOEL, Health Services, Food Services, Office of Admissions, Office of Development, Housing, Student Government Association and services required by students. Organize and administer student's from abroad groups/gatherings in collaboration with SGA. Coordinate with Graduate Studies and Research updating and posting of information needed by students to complete degree requirements.

Manage exchange with partners abroad for bilateral benefits to the institution for developing new programs with foreign partners and procure MOU whenever appropriate. Develop mechanisms abroad for funding suitable to complement grantsmanship at. Document and divulge needs for home institution to orient participants about critical. Work closely with the Office of Development to ensure protection of TU branding, and dissemination of prominent discoveries.

Work closed with University counsel to guarantee protection of TU assets and/or investments. Work closely with Pre-Post awards staff to ensure timely retention of activities for near expiring contracts. Propose, get approval and negotiate measures that would foster intellectual property protection, and proliferation of agreements for technology transfer advancement vide written reports, minimally quarterly to the Provost for the President cabinet assessment.

Participate in institutional external committees, as delegated/required. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) - Minimum Master's Degree, bilingual proficiency, and understanding other languages. Five plus years relevant experience managing programs, students, visiting scholars and collaborations. Experience with international exchange programs and ability to travel, and ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship. Record of accomplishment funding with external sources, international exchanges alone or in collaboration with partners.

Capable of producing demographic information per academic unit on participating partners, activities, status and modifications when needed. Ability to travel, and ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship

Skills and Attributes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and multilingual ability to communicate preferably in languages such as Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, etc. Customer focused, strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective relationships.
