Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage syllabus materials. The faculty is responsible for selecting and compiling tests, assignments and/or online discussion exercises that permit measurement of performance relative to standardized learning objectives.
  • Coordinate courseware and curriculum with academic department chair. The faculty is responsible for reviewing any textbook and other courseware changes with the academic department chair and other full‑time faculty teaching the course.
  • Facilitate class instruction. The faculty is responsible for teaching the assigned classes in accordance with learning objectives and session plan outlines as specified by Tuskegee University. The candidate should have a diverse background and be willing to instruct a variety of art courses (studio drawing 1 and 2, 2D/3D design) and/or lecture (Alt Appreciation, Alt History).
  • Evaluate student performance. The faculty is expected to administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics. All course grades will be posted on the Blackboard Grade Center and Tiger Web.
  • Adhere to protocol guidelines. The faculty is responsible for participation in any chat sessions as determined by the course.
  • Respond promptly to grade determination. The faculty should submit grades for any assignments, discussion board exercises, exams and course completion in a timely manner.
  • Input final grades in Canvas and into the Colleague Self‑Service Portal. Participate, facilitate and coordinate end of term “close the loop” meetings for the department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidate should have a terminal degree in fine art (MFA).
