Job Summary
The School of Education is seeking an innovative, dedicated Assistant Professor in Elementary Education to join our tenure-track faculty. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing teaching excellence, conducting meaningful research, and engaging in service activities that enrich our academic community. This role is ideal for an educator with expertise in elementary mathematics pedagogy and content who is passionate about preparing future elementary educators.
- Teach elementary education courses with an emphasis on mathematics pedagogy and content, ensuring compliance with ALSDE approvals and the Alabama Numeracy Act (SB-171 ).
- Deliver program and departmental courses, including seminars and orientation sessions.
- Engage in research and scholarly activities that advance the field of elementary education.
- Contribute to the development of effective teaching practices and curricular innovations.
- Serve on departmental and university committees, and provide advisement to students.
- Stay informed about emerging competencies and best practices that enhance the University's core values in teaching, research, and service.
- Maintain regular office hours and provide mentoring to students.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's level education in elementary education. (A doctorate in elementary education is preferred).
- Successful teaching experience at a minimum of three full years of professional experience teaching mathematics at the K-5 grade levels is required.
