NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems for spaceflight hardware and ground support equipment. This role plays a vital part in advancing propulsion technologies, structural systems, and mission-critical components for NASA's exploration programs. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative engineering solutions to life.

Job Duties
- Design and analyze mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace applications. Develop 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses using simulation tools. Support fabrication, integration, and testing of flight and ground hardware. Conduct failure analysis and implement design improvements. Ensure compliance with NASA engineering standards and safety protocols. Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) - Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2 + years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, or testing (aerospace experience preferred);
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Creo, or Siemens NX) Familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and engineering calculations. Must be a US citizen.

Physical Demands
- Ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to walk short distances. Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items. Ability to view a computer terminal.

Skills and Attributes
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and tolerance analysis. Familiarity with environmental testing (vibration, thermal, vacuum). Understanding of configuration management and quality assurance practices.
