Position Title

GWCAES Research Assistant I, II, III (Full Time)

Job Summary

This is a continuous posting. The position supports the GWCAES research and demonstration.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research work, including field or laboratory study.
  • Assist in data collection, curation, analysis, and project reports.
  • Prepare laboratory or field sites according to detailed instructions.
  • Manage inventories and supply requisitions for assigned area, check in shipments, and restock shelves/supply areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)

Candidate must hold at least an AS degree (MS or equivalent preferred) in agricultural science, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, agricultural engineering, or a related discipline.

  • GWCAES Research Assistant I: AS with minimum of 5 years of experience or BS with little to no experience.
  • GWCAES Research Assistant II: BS degree with 2+ years of experience or AS with 8+ years of experience.
  • GWCAES Research Assistant III: BS with minimum of 5 years of experience or MS.
Physical Demands
  • Requires walking, standing, sitting, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but not to an extreme extent.
  • May involve minor safety hazards resulting in minor cuts, bruises, etc.
  • Requires ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Skills and Attributes
  • Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Basic computer fluency with Microsoft Office Suite and web conferencing tools (Word, Excel, Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience in a leadership role with demonstrated critical‑thinking skills is a plus.
  • Effective team player.
  • Self‑driven and self‑motivated.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
