Position Title

CDL Driver

This is a continuous open announcement. The CDL Driver reports directly to the Vice‑President of Student Affairs / Chief Operating Officer. The role is responsible for safely transporting students, faculty, and staff to and from predetermined destinations on the University’s Golden Tiger Transit System route.

• Perform vehicle pre‑route inspection prior to departure and post‑route inspection after completion of route
• Safely transport passengers
• Complete assigned designated Tuskegee Golden Tiger Transit bus route on schedule while stopping at all stops
• Assist as needed with embarking and disembarking
• Report all mechanical issues to the service manager immediately
• Obey all traffic laws
• Maintain a clean and sanitary bus at all times
• Ensure that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times
• Inform clients and TU Management of potential delays
• Report all vehicle‑related issues for urgent attention
• Perform other duties as assigned

• A valid State of Alabama CDL License with Class A, B, C and Endorsement P License pursuant to §32.6.
  
  -49.10 Code of Alabama, 1975
• 5 years professional driving on the road (preferred)
• Air Brake certification (preferred)
• Less than 3 points on your license (preferred)

Ensuring that you are always fit to maneuver the truck.

• Experience operating similar vehicles for work purposes
• Comfortable using GPS equipment
• Compliance with all road and transport rules
• Ability to drive safely, irrespective of the weather or time of day
• High quality time management, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills
• Availability to occasionally work nights and weekends, if needed
