Hiring - Palo Alto || Tustin, CA area|| Engine Development - Embedded/Validation/EMC Engineers _ Automotive ||What You’ll Do
- Perform durability analysis of vehicle structures using finite element tools such as Optistruct, Abaqus, and Hyperview/META.
- Use LS-Dyna to analyze CAD data and perform crash analyses for battery systems and components.
- Collaborate with design engineers and suppliers to collect accurate material properties and connection details.
- Post-process and interpret CAE results, communicate findings to design teams, and recommend feasible design improvements for optimization.
- Use simulation results to define component or material performance requirements and establish design boundaries.
- Develop and guide physical test plans to validate analysis results.
- Lead the development of robust processes and strategies for analysis, optimization, and delivery of high-quality battery systems.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a BS degree with 7+ years, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Optistruct, Abaqus, Hyperview/META, and LS-Dyna applied to automotive structural analysis.
- Strong background in solid mechanics, materials science, and structural analysis principles.
- Proficiency in CATIA and experience building FEA models from CAD data.
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing component and subsystem tests.
- Proven ability to prepare and deliver formal reports summarizing analysis results and recommendations.
- Solid understanding of material properties relevant to automotive structures.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of first-principles physics related to automotive body structures and energy management.
- Familiarity with automotive design, development processes, and system-level requirements.
