Design West Technologies Inc. of Tustin, CA has an immediate need for a part‑time Quality Engineering Intern (estimating 20-24 hours per week). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Quality department, facilitating production of projects for the Department of Defense. In this role, you will work with quality, manufacturing, engineering and planning departments.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN QUALITY ENGINEERING INTERN AT DWT

You will perform dimensional, mechanical or visual inspection of sub‑assemblies or incoming parts to ensure conformance to blueprints, engineering specifications and customer requirements; collect and maintain results according to procedure; prepare part approval documentation in accordance with company and customer procedure; collect and analyze data in support of short‑term projects, support the development of verification, and other instructions with graphics and text.

These tasks will assist you in developing an understanding of AS91000D Quality System and government/DCMA inspections.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing or recent graduate B.S. degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings preferred
  • Well organized and ability to compile accurate data
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
