Job Summary
As a Senior Project Electrical Engineer at Envista Forensics, you will play a crucial role in conducting forensic investigations related to electrical incidents and failures. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts to determine the origin and root causes of accidents, equipment malfunctions, product defects, and other electrical failure–related issues. Your findings will be essential in helping our clients make informed decisions and resolving complex legal and insurance matters.
Responsibilities- Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings; determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design, construction, or maintenance quality.
- Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi‑party examinations; collaborate on large, complex projects within multidisciplinary teams.
- Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations; prepare detailed reports and letters outlining the cause of damage for clients.
- Provide deposition and expert testimony in product‑liability cases for civil, federal, and occasional criminal courts, addressing damages and professional liability.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in the electrical engineering field.
- PE license in the state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months.
- Willingness to travel to clients’ sites 25‑30%; ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
- Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles.
- At least 5 years of experience evaluating electrical failures in commercial or industrial settings.
- Experience with power systems (generators, transformers, switch gear, etc.) and electro‑mechanical systems.
- Experience working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters.
