Corporate Controller

An established Southern California-based manufacturer within the aerospace and defense sector is seeking a hands‑on Controller to oversee financial operations and support strategic business initiatives. This leadership position will be responsible for driving accurate financial reporting, strengthening accounting processes, improving operational visibility, and partnering with executive leadership across multiple business units.

The organization is looking for a strong accounting leader who can operate both strategically and tactically in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting. Experience with ERP systems, operational finance, inventory/cost accounting, and process improvement initiatives is highly valued.

• Direct oversight of day‑to‑day accounting and finance operations across multiple entities.
• Managing monthly and annual close processes while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Supporting leadership with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business performance analysis.
• Monitoring cash flow, liquidity planning, and overall financial performance to support operational goals.
• Partnering with operations, supply chain, engineering, and executive teams to improve financial visibility and decision‑making.
• Leading efforts related to ERP enhancements, reporting automation, and system/process optimization.
• Developing and maintaining strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance procedures.
• Overseeing inventory accounting, cost analysis, project‑based financial tracking, and manufacturing‑related reporting.
• Managing relationships with external auditors, tax partners, and financial institutions.
• Mentoring and developing accounting staff while building scalable processes and accountability across the team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, including prior experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership capacity.
• Background within manufacturing, aerospace & defense, government contracting, or similarly complex operational environments.
• Strong understanding of:
• Cost accounting and inventory management
• Multi-entity accounting structures
• Internal controls and audit coordination
• Operational and manufacturing finance
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience required.
• Prior ERP implementation or optimization experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI is a plus.
• CPA and/or CMA designation preferred.
