Your RoleThe Production Planner is responsible for creating production schedules and supporting effective material and inventory planning through accurate master data, disciplined ERP execution, and strong cross‑functional coordination. The role focuses on translating demand into executable plans, ensuring data integrity within D365, and supporting reliable reporting and operational decision‑making. The Production Planner works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Warehouse teams to maintain system alignment, support compliant processes, and drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy and execution.
Key Responsibilities- Execute day‑to‑day planning activities including material requirements, production schedules, and inventory replenishment within D365.
- Maintain accurate item masters, BOMs, routes, and planning parameters to support effective MRP and production execution.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Warehouse Operations to ensure timely material availability, production readiness, and system alignment.
- Analyze demand, supply, and inventory data to identify planning risks, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support development and tracking of Supply Chain KPIs related to schedule adherence, inventory turns, material availability, and forecast accuracy.
- Troubleshoot ERP‑related planning issues involving item setup, BOM structure, routes, or process orders and coordinate resolution with functional partners.
- Participate in cycle count and physical inventory activities, including variance review, root cause analysis, and master data corrections.
- Identify and recommend process or system improvements to improve planning accuracy, data integrity, and workflow efficiency.
- Ensure planning activities and ERP transactions comply with cGMP requirements and internal quality standards.
- Support reporting and data analysis to enable informed operational and planning decisions.
- Contribute to ERP enhancements, testing activities, and deployment of new planning‑related functionality or configuration changes.
- Collaborate with system users and management to define appropriate planning parameters, workflows, and system usage.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and reorder points, recommending adjustments based on demand and performance trends.
- Apply working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and regulatory expectations related to inventory control and ERP data integrity.
- May support or mentor junior planners or analysts as the role evolves.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline required.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, material planning, supply planning, or inventory planning roles; hands‑on experience working in an ERP system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics D365, supporting MRP, production orders, inventory management, and master data maintenance.
- Strong understanding of BOMs, routings, lead times, safety stock, reorder points, and planning parameters.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations in regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or CDMO; working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and quality system requirements related to inventory control, traceability, and data integrity.
- Proven ability to analyze demand, supply, and inventory data to identify risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities.
- Experience participating in cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory variance investigations.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
