Job Summary
This position is responsible for all supervisory activities related to the assembly of medical device products in the production department. The supervisor directs production activities and coordinates assembly team members to accomplish requirements, supervises workers to execute production goals, and reports directly to the Assembly Manager.
Job Duties- Responsible for overseeing assembly department activities.
- Supervises assembly production to ensure overall manufacturing practices are followed.
- Direct supervision over Assembly Department staff, providing corrective action, performance reviews, and employee timekeeping and time off requests.
- Works directly with the Assembly Manager to train and coach all assembly team members on assembly procedures, final test procedures, packaging and labeling, safety and other procedures to ensure quality workmanship.
- Ensures employees' stations are well equipped.
- Maintains strong ability to follow all good documentation and good manufacturing practices.
- Coordinates with the set‑up person for any tool issues or issues with the assembly procedures, test procedures, or equipment, and reports them to the Assembly Manager.
- Ensures that the verification sheet is signed by the assembly personnel and approves the first piece assembled.
- Reports production to the Assembly Manager.
- Works with the Assembly Manager to establish work priorities.
- Ensures all assigned employees work only on products they have been trained on.
- Coordinates calibration of all applicable equipment, tools and fixtures with the calibration team.
- Performs final assembly, subassemblies, final test, packaging and labeling to assure quality.
- Supports environmental monitoring of assigned areas.
- Notifies the Assembly Manager of discrepancies.
- Follows the production schedule.
- Assembles products according to manufacturing procedures and other applicable company procedures.
- Partner with the Assembly Manager to assess and solve production floor issues.
- Provides feedback to assemblers.
- Recommends methods for improving facility management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to read and understand company documents such as operating or manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Computer skills including Word, Excel and other Microsoft platforms.
- Lead the team by example with integrity.
- Read and understand drawings, assembly and test procedures.
- Coordinate calibration for all test equipment and fixtures.
- Assist the team with any protocol questions or concerns.
- Ensure the team meets Pro‑Dex quality standards with all work.
- Work well under pressure.
Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum five years of supervisory experience in an industrial field. Ability to read and understand drawings, assembly and test procedures.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to read and understand all standard and operating procedures. Ability to learn quickly. Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables when limited standardization exists.

Mental, Physical and Visual DemandsWhile performing essential duties, the employee must sit, listen, speak, type and move throughout the facility, use a keyboard for computer purposes, and may be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may be required to conduct inspections under magnification.
