The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying that Solar PV, BESS, and EV projects are installed in compliance with design drawings, codes, standards, and client requirements. This role ensures quality assurance through inspection, documentation, and enforcement of corrective actions.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive inspections of ongoing and completed work across civil, mechanical, DC, and AC phases.
- Verify compliance with engineered drawings, building/electrical codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications.
- Issue and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions with construction teams and subcontractors.
- Perform witness testing (e.g., megger testing, IR scanning, DAS verification) and validate test results submitted by technicians.
- Review subcontractor work for quality, workmanship, and adherence to scope of work.
- Participate in pre-construction walkouts and post-installation inspections, including customer interface when required.
- Support project closeout through review of testing documentation, inspection reports, and as-built validation.
- Provide weekly inspection summaries to QAQC Superintendent and/or Manager.
- Coordinate with commissioning team to ensure systems are ready for energization and turnover.
- All other duties as required.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes in Solar PV, BESS, and EV charger installations.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC, UL, IEEE, and local building code requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, one-lines, and specifications.
- Skilled in identifying workmanship issues, safety hazards, and installation deficiencies.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to interface with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, reporting tools, and QAQC documentation platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Ability to work independently in the field, prioritize inspections, and make quality-driven decisions.
- Physical ability to work on construction sites, including roofs, trenches, and equipment yards.
