Your Role

The Director, Client Quality Programs serves as the primary interface between clients and Quality functions, ensuring alignment of client expectations with internal quality processes. This role focuses on coordination, communication, and escalation management for client‑facing quality activities. It operates in a matrixed capacity across Avid Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Quality Control and Project Management, and does not have primary responsibility for batch disposition decision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the QA personnel responsible for coordination of client‑facing quality related deliverables, including facilitation of lot disposition, Batch Production Record (BPR) readiness, QA Project Management and QA On the Floor (QAOTF) activities.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely product disposition decisions in partnership with Quality functional owners.
  • Ensure alignment of master BPR requirements and timelines with client expectations. Partner with client and Avid Quality and technical functional teams for preparation, review, and approval.
  • Operate as a cross‑functional QA liaison across QA, QC, Manufacturing and Project Management.
  • Manage client communication strategy, escalation management, and act as QA representative for external governance meetings.
  • Identify, design, champion and implement process improvements using Operational Excellence tools to analyze current state and create future state.
  • Utilize technical and quality knowledge to provide QA oversight and guidance to real-time Manufacturing floor events, resulting in rapid remediation and compliance with client and regulatory expectations. Communicate clearly with client to support issue resolution and client relations.
  • Independently formulate solutions to complex problems with little guidance or oversight required.
  • Apply strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Manage and direct the selection, training, motivation, development, appraisal and work assignments of Quality personnel.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Occasional overnight travel by land and/or air may be required to attend seminars, conferences or client meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.A. or B.S. degree (preferably in Life Science) with at least 7‑10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Sound knowledge of cGMPs, with the ability to interpret and relate Quality standards for implementation and make sound decisions that align with cGMPs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility in problem solving and ability to work hours to meet business objectives.
  • Operational Excellence and Lean problem‑solving experience preferred.
  • Strong language skills for reading, analyzing, and responding to scientific, regulatory, and legal documents.
  • Mathematical skills – ability to work with probability, statistical inference, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.
  • Reasoning ability – ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in multiple formats.
  • Computer skills – proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and routine database activity.
