Job Summary
Eurofins Built Environment Testing is searching for an experienced Asbestos Analyst in Tustin, CA. The analyst primarily performs analysis of bulk samples using PLM for asbestos, validates data, enters information into LIMS, schedules workload, and provides technical support.
Responsibilities- Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos.
- Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS.
- Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work.
- Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples, and other quality control samples.
- Provide client service support as needed.
- Assist QA manager in developing, implementing, and collecting data for QA processes.
- Confirm lab results as requested by client services personnel.
- Execute all analytical testing and QA related tasks as required.
- Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
- Maintain and update all necessary training and QA documents onsite.
- Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due times for timely delivery.
- Assist co‑workers with analytical questions as necessary.
- Participate in Lean initiatives.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory of consumables and re‑order supplies as needed.
- Dispose of analyzed samples as required.
- Provide training support for relevant analytical services.
- Recommend and coordinate sample transfers as necessary.
- Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues.
- Maintain equipment and coordinate servicing.
- Communicate available capacity to Regional Manager.
- Support other departments within the lab when appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
- 0-1+ years of experience performing asbestos microscopy using Polarizing Light Microscope (PLM).
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, geology, or a closely related science.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Ability to travel for training.
- Preferred: 8 units of geology courses.
- Knowledge of general regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
Hourly rate: $22‑$28 per hour, depending on level of experience and qualifications.

Work ScheduleFull‑time, Monday‑Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Possible weekends and overtime as needed.
