Research Associate, Analytical Development

Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Research Associate, Analytical Development for a contract-to-hire position at a cutting-edge client in Tustin, California

Pay: $31 – $38/hour

Schedule: Full-time onsite | Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Overview

Our client is an industry-leading clinical and commercial biologics CDMO focused on developing and manufacturing life‑saving biopharmaceuticals and creating innovative solutions to improve patient outcomes.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced Analytical Scientists to identify and characterize protein biologics. You’ll develop Cell-based, ELISA, HPLC, CE, PCR, and/or SDS‑PAGE methods while interfacing with Quality Control as methods are transferred into that group for cGMP testing. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fast‑paced team making a real difference in the world of biologics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tasks to support the development, optimization, validation, and routine testing of protein therapeutics via protein characterization techniques
  • Demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the following:
    ELISA, Cell‑Based Assays, HPLC, CE, icIEF, PCR, SDS‑PAGE
  • Document method development and validation activities according to current practices
  • Assist in training analysts on new methods and transfer methods to the cGMP Quality Control lab as necessary
  • Work in a fast‑paced team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload effectively
  • Provide regular updates to the Process Development department and other functional teams as necessary
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in the Biological or Physical Sciences with 2+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles
  • Experience with analytical method development using bioanalytical techniques
  • Hands‑on experience with: ELISA, Cell‑Based Assays, HPLC, CE, icIEF, PCR, SDS‑PAGE
  • (Preferred) Experience in assay validation/qualification and familiarity with industry regulations applicable to job functions
