Roadside Technician
Location:
Richmond
Pay / salary:£55,869 (inclusive of LWA), £36 per hour overtime rate + bonus enabling earnings in excess of £80,000.
Job type:
Permanent / Full time role
Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role: 40 hours per week, averaged over the year. Scheduling visibility - Working pattern issued seven days in advance and can be subject to change until being fully confirmed three days ahead of time. Working hours range is 6.00am - 02.00amacross Monday to Sunday. Rest and recovery - 11 hours of rest between shifts.

- Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
- Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible, ensuring member mobility.
- Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
- Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.
- Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
- Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
- Must have a full UK driving licence
