Playground Aide
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual to support the recreational activities of students at Oregon Trail Elementary School. The Playground Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children during outdoor playtime. This part-time position requires a passion for working with children, strong communication skills, and the ability to promote positive social interactions among students.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise students during recess and outdoor activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Facilitate and encourage participation in games and activities, promoting teamwork and cooperation among students.
- Monitor student behavior, addressing any conflicts or issues that arise in a calm and constructive manner.
- Assist in organizing and implementing recreational activities that engage students of various age groups and interests.
- Communicate effectively with teachers and staff regarding any concerns or incidents that occur during playtime.
- Maintain a clean and safe playground environment by ensuring equipment is in good condition and reporting any hazards.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere where all students feel welcome and valued.
- Support the overall mission of the school by promoting positive social interactions and healthy play habits.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children in a school or recreational setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when interacting with children.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus but not required (training may be provided).
- Ability to work flexible hours, typically during school recess periods.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
