Middle School Mathematics Teacher

South Hills Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to teach 7th grade mathematics. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and a love for mathematics. This full-time position requires a commitment to academic excellence and the ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines for 7th grade math.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Assess student progress through formal and informal evaluations, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Create a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding academic performance and behavioral issues.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for middle school (or the ability to obtain one).
• Strong knowledge of 7th grade math curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Experience working with middle school students preferred.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with colleagues.
