JOB GOAL
To assist special education teachers in the compliance of district, state, and federal special education paperwork requirements.
LOCATION OF POSITIONLincoln and South Hills Middle School
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Secretary/Clerical experience preferably in a school district.
- Ability to work efficiently and harmoniously with supervisors, staff and parents. Computer experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Desired
- Three years’ experience as secretary.
- Certificate from two-year college.
- Checking, correcting, copying, collating and filing IEP’s.
- Scheduling IEP meetings.
- Entering data into SEAS Data Program.
- Develop and copy Medicaid billing reports.
- Coordinate student demographic information between Power School and SEAS.
- Creates and updates student class lists.
- Ability to travel between schools.
- Send required paperwork to Support Services.
- Remind special education teachers of IEP, and evaluation compliance due dates.
- Other duties as assigned.
- The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.
- Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 10 to 35 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- This type of work involves sitting most of the time, but will involve walking or standing for extended periods.
- Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important job aspects.
This is a “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment “at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval, and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
