K-12 Flexible Full-Time Substitute
The K-12 Flexible Full-Time Substitute provides instructional and non-instructional support to students and staff in various educational settings across the district. Assigned daily by the Substitute Coordinator, this flexible position requires the employee to adapt to various school environments and student needs, supporting classroom instruction, supervising students, and assisting in the implementation of educational programs under the direction of licensed staff.
Qualifications (Minimum):
- Must have a minimum of 32 core college credits; or an associate's degree, or have a high school diploma or GED and pass the Para Pro Praxis exam.
- Demonstrate the ability to accomplish the performance tasks listed below with an interest in and aptitude for working with Special Education students.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow directions and implement educational strategies under teacher supervision.
- Physical ability to assist with student movement and classroom activities as needed.
- Any alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Essential Duties:
- Report daily to the Guest Teacher Coordinator for assignment and instructions.
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction and management.
- Support individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival/dismissal.
- Assist students with special needs, including physical or behavioral challenges, as directed.
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom equipment as needed.
- Provide clerical support including filing, copying, and data entry related to student progress and records.
- Maintain confidentiality in all student and school matters.
- Follow district policies and procedures, as well as directives from the supervising teacher or administrator.
- Respond flexibly to changing assignments and support needs throughout the district.
- Develop and maintain a positive rapport with individual students, teachers, administrators, staff and district-wide personnel.
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Superintendent and/or Board may deem necessary.
Application Procedure:
Apply online. $18.70 per hour
Work Calendar: 176 days (Pay will be spread over 12 months. Position will be eligible for benefits.) All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval, and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
