Elementary ELL Paraprofessional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support the educational needs of multilingual learners at Pillar Falls Elementary School as an Elementary ELL Paraprofessional. This part-time position involves working closely with the ELL teacher, classroom teachers, and students to provide language support that promotes English language development and academic success. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the ELL teacher and classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities that support English language development.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to English Language Learners in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Support students in accessing grade-level curriculum while building English language proficiency.
  • Monitor and document student progress, participation, and engagement, providing feedback to the ELL teacher as needed.
  • Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources to support language acquisition.
  • Encourage positive relationships, confidence, and cultural inclusion among multilingual learners.
  • Assist with classroom management and maintain a safe, organized, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, the ELL teacher, and other staff members to support student success.
  • Participate in professional development and training as required.
Requirements
  • Two years of college, an AA degree, or successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment (Praxis Exam).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to remain patient, flexible, and supportive while working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructional guidance from the ELL teacher.
  • Basic proficiency with technology and educational software.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with school district policies and procedures.

This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment "at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.

All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon Board approval and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
