Summary

Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistance Dance Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about dance, has a strong understanding of various dance styles, and enjoys working with high school students. The Assistance Dance Coach will support the head coach in developing the dance program, mentoring students, and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the head coach in planning and executing dance practices, rehearsals, and performances.
  • Provide instruction and guidance in various dance techniques and styles to students of varying skill levels.
  • Help organize and lead team-building activities to promote camaraderie and teamwork among dancers.
  • Assist in the choreography of routines for competitions, showcases, and school events.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills and confidence.
  • Support the head coach in maintaining a safe and positive practice environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, events, and team expectations.
  • Attend all practices, competitions, and team events as required.
  • Assist in the organization of fundraising activities and events to support the dance program.
  • Uphold school policies and promote a culture of respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in dance, either as a dancer or coach, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of various dance styles, including but not limited to jazz, hip-hop, ballet, and contemporary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire high school students.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends during the dance season.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a background check as required by school policy.
  • A genuine passion for dance and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all students.

This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.
