Passroom Supervisor
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to oversee the daily operations of the passroom at South Hills Middle School. This full-time position is essential for ensuring a safe and organized environment for students during transition periods. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for working with youth, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the passroom during transitions between classes, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behavior incidents in the passroom.
- Implement and uphold school safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all students.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to promote a supportive school community.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in education or child development is preferred.
- Previous experience working with middle school-aged children or in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and manage student behavior appropriately.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating a positive learning environment and promoting student success.
- Proficient in using basic computer applications and school management systems.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations and needs within the school environment.
- Must pass a background check and meet any other state or local requirements for employment in a school setting.
All recommendations for hire are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval, and successful completion of a federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening. This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law.
