ESports Shout caster and Media Assistant - Part Time

The Esports Shout caster & Media Assistant supports the growth and visibility of the CSI Esports Program by providing high-quality livestream commentary, media coverage, and promotional content. This role enhances team visibility, builds community engagement, and contributes to a professional online presence for the program.

In addition to media and broadcasting responsibilities, this position plays a key role in maintaining and managing gaming equipment, planning for hardware replacement and support, and ensuring the ESports room network and Tri Caster system operate effectively. Strong technical and IT skills are essential to support the program’s infrastructure and deliver a seamless experience for players and viewers.

Shout casting & Broadcasting

  • Provide live commentary (“shout casting”) for CSI Esports matches and tournaments.
  • Set up and operate streaming equipment and broadcasting software.
  • Collaborate with the Esports Coach to ensure smooth match coverage.
  • Maintain professional, enthusiastic, and audience-appropriate on-air presence.
  • Assist with scheduling and promoting livestream events.
  • Work closely with the CSI Marketing & Communications department to develop livestream overlays, match promotion materials, schedules, and highlight graphics.
  • Capture video clips for social media and season recaps.
  • Assist with managing the program’s brand identity and ensuring consistency with institutional guidelines.
  • Edit short-form content (clips, reels, etc.) to highlight team activities.

Program Support

  • Assist with event setup for on-campus gaming events or viewing parties.
  • Help maintain an organized media archive.
  • Support general program needs as directed by the Esports Coach or Student Activities Coordinator.
  • Maintain gaming equipment, manage team equipment inventory, and plan for replacement and support of current hardware.
  • Coordinate with IT and technical staff to ensure proper functioning of the Esports room network and Tri Caster system.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with ESports, live streaming, shout casting, or public speaking.
  • Familiarity with broadcasting software.
  • Basic skills in media coordination or video editing (Canva, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.).
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends for matches.
  • Strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism.
  • Basic IT knowledge and technical skills to understand and troubleshoot network connectivity and Tri Caster system operations.

Compensation

· $500 per Month, up to 19.5 hours per week
