Job SummaryThis position leads a team of 20-30 production employees to identify, manage, and execute process improvement opportunities, ensuring production and quality goals are met while maintaining safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and issues.
- Provide resources (materials, equipment, people) to support production schedules.
- Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
- Oversee and maintain an engaged, team-oriented workforce that supports business results.
- Serve as a corporate citizen, partner in sustainability efforts and community support.
- Participate in training and development for new Operations Team Leads.
- Lead and promote the World Class Safety/Wellness Culture.
- Help team members develop personal and professional growth.
- Supervise and evaluate production staff, providing training, performance appraisals, and discipline.
- Direct, coordinate, and evaluate 20-30 employees in the Production area.
- Assign work, plan schedules, and manage work assignments.
- Appraise performance, reward excellence and discipline as needed.
- Address complaints and resolve workplace issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or three years of related experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios).
- Common sense reasoning and problem solving in standard situations.
- Computer literacy: proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and manufacturing software.
- Ability to work weekends and shift schedules, including swing and graveyard shifts.
Requires regular standing, walking, use of hands, lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Comfortable with moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, vibration, wet or humid conditions, fumes or chemicals, and moderate noise.
Work EnvironmentProduction plant environment with moving mechanical parts, exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, vibration, and occasional wet or humid conditions. Generally moderate noise levels.
