Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring EPIC and TTM/Zoll cooling experience along with prior travel nursing background.

• Active RN license ( Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Required to have TTM/thermoguard and Zoll cooling experience
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Acute care setting experience in a Level 3 trauma facility
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

• Combined ICU/PCU unit with 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds on Floor 2
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2; PCU ratio of 1:3
• CNAs support the unit at a 1:8 ratio, assisting with vitals, foley care, bathing, IV pulls, bladder scans, and specimen collection
• Patient population includes vented, cardiac post-PCI, impella, IABP, stroke (TNK), TTM with Zoll cooling/thermoguard, vascular, trauma, EtOH, sepsis, OD, and abdominal trauma/surgical cases
• Intensivist coverage 7 days a week (mostly days, with eICU support overnight); hospitalist and RT in-house 24/7
• Charge nurse supports the entire ICU/PCU unit without taking a patient assignment
• Tele tech monitors patients on-site and at sister facilities; RN must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• RNs responsible for titrating standard ICU drips including vasoactive and sedative medications; PCU involves mild titrations within written parameters
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement typically every other weekend, based on need
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No call or standby requirement, though extra shifts may be available
• Required to float between ICU and PCU patients within the unit
• First to float when needed
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Manage ventilators, respiratory treatments, specimen collection, and bronchoscopy support in coordination with RT staff available 24/7

• Unit/department-specific orientation includes 2 shifts on the unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accepted, though block scheduling may be considered if it aligns with unit needs
• Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent employees must have been away from the facility for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
