* Summary:
Responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, testing, maintaining, and repairing industrial piping systems and associated mechanical equipment in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, specifications, and P&IDs.
  • Layout, measure, cut, bevel, thread, fit, and assemble piping systems.
  • Install carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE, PVC, copper, and other piping materials.
  • Install valves, pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, and related equipment.
  • Perform flange make-up, bolt torqueing, and gasket installation.
  • Assist with hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, and system commissioning.
  • Verify proper alignment and installation of piping systems.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and equipment safely.
  • Follow all company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements.
Other Tasks:
  • Assist with rigging and material handling activities.
  • Mentor and train apprentices.
  • Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Travel to and from various job sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities :
May provide work direction and training to Pipefitter Apprentices

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and preferably able to perform other tasks satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education and/or

Experience:


Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Four years or more of pipe fitting experience in industrial or commercial construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings.
Preferred:
  • Completion of a recognized pipefitter apprenticeship program.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Training.
  • MSHA Certification.
  • Welding experience.
  • Industrial plant construction experience.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of industrial piping systems and installation methods.
  • Proficiency with pipe fitting tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
  • Knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and supports.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to safely perform work in an industrial environment.
