As the next Victim Services Coordinator for the City of Twin Falls, you will advocate for victims' constitutional rights and provide critical support to individuals impacted by crime and traumatic events. You'll serve as a key resource for victims, law enforcement, and the community by coordinating services, assisting with investigations and court processes, and ensuring victims receive timely, compassionate, and appropriate support.
In this impactful role, you'll work closely with sworn officers, detectives, the prosecuting attorney's office, community partners, and service providers while exercising independent judgment to prioritize cases and respond to sensitive and time-critical situations.
Description
As the Victim Services Coordinator, you will:
- Respond to traumatic events such as domestic violence incidents, suicides, accidental deaths, crime scenes, hospitals, and missing-child notifications
- Advocate for victims' rights and provide emotional, physical, and procedural support
- Assist victims in understanding the judicial process and coordinate with the prosecuting attorney's office, including testifying in court when required
- Connect victims with appropriate local, state, and national resources such as counseling, shelter, medical care, transportation, and employment services
- Collaborate with law enforcement personnel and external agencies to coordinate services and share information appropriately
- Provide training and education to sworn officers, community groups, and partners on victim-related issues, including domestic violence, stalking, and harassment
- Maintain accurate, confidential records, case files, and documentation
- Keep supervisors informed of work progress, challenges, and improvement opportunities
- Respond to citizen questions and concerns in a courteous, timely, and professional manner
- Perform related duties as required
- $23.49-$28.19 per hour ($48,855-$58,631 annually), depending on experience
- Full-time, non-exempt position

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Three years of experience in crisis intervention and/or working with victims of trauma
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with accuracy and professionalism
- Demonstrated empathy, active listening skills, and ability to maintain professional boundaries
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful, emotional, and potentially dangerous situations
- Valid Idaho Driver's License or ability to obtain one
- NOVA credentials preferred
- Ability to respond outside of normal work hours, including nights and weekends
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
This position primarily operates in general office and courtroom environments, with additional work performed at crime scenes, hospitals, shelters, and victims' homes. Duties may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions, emotionally charged situations, and potentially hazardous environments.
