As the next Airport Operations Supervisor for the City of Twin Falls, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Twin Falls Airport. You’ll oversee daily airfield and facility operations while ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements.

In this highly responsible role, you’ll work closely with the Airport Manager, maintenance staff, contractors, consultants, and community stakeholders while exercising independent judgment to supervise personnel, manage airport infrastructure, and respond to time‑critical operational and emergency situations.

Description

As the Airport Operations Supervisor, you will:

  • Assist the Airport Manager in maintaining FAA and TSA compliance and airport certification
  • Supervise and direct Airport Maintenance staff in daily operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Oversee maintenance of runways, taxiways, lighting systems, pavement markings, signage, buildings, grounds, fencing, and security systems
  • Prepare the airport for annual FAA certification inspections and emergency preparedness events
  • Conduct airfield inspections, identify hazards, and issue Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) as required
  • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the airport’s annual operating budget and inventory
  • Set goals, priorities, and performance standards for airport staff
  • Ensure staff are trained in safety procedures, emergency response, and operational protocols
  • Coordinate with consultants and oversee airport construction and capital improvement projects
  • Maintain airport security and respond to incidents involving vandalism, trespassing, fire, wildlife hazards, or other threats
  • Serve in the on‑call rotation and respond to after‑hours emergencies and operational needs
  • Respond to public inquiries and concerns in a courteous, timely, and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
  • Perform related duties as required
  • $30.41-$36.48 per hour ($63,243-$75,887 annually), depending on experience
  • Full‑time, non‑exempt position

What We're Looking For
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Working knowledge of FAA and TSA regulations
  • Experience in airport operations, maintenance, and safety procedures
  • Ability to make sound decisions in fast‑paced, safety‑sensitive environments
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum three (3) years of heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience
  • Two (2) years of airport maintenance experience
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Class B Commercial Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clear criminal history records check
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check

This position primarily operates outdoors in an airport environment and may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions, heavy equipment, airfield hazards, and emergency situations. The role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 60 pounds, operating equipment, and navigating rough terrain.
