Regional Driver

Reports to: Director of Distribution

Classification: Non-Exempt

The Regional Driver will be responsible for transporting food-grade quality goods safely from pick-up to delivery destination within a specific region. They will plan and coordinate with dispatchers regarding pick-ups and deliveries, often requiring several consecutive days of travel, including overnight stays. The role involves working with both the Dispatch Manager and Transportation Manager for loads and maintenance.

• Drive company-provided equipment on a regular basis.
• Know, understand and comply with all local and regional traffic laws.
• Comply with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate ELD logs and ensure compliance at all times.
• Assist in unloading and loading when allowed.
• Communicate professionally with shippers and receivers.
• Report all accidents, incidents, or cargo issues according to department policies.
• Represent the company in a professional manner and follow all policies and procedures.
• Promote the department vision of Safety, Service and Efficiency.
• Identify and report all maintenance issues and provide updates on recurring problems.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with team members to complete all tasks.
• Communicate with employees and customers through written, oral, and face-to-face interactions.
• Assist other team members in completing work.
• Adhere to all safety standards.
• Fill in on over-the-road trips when required.
• Other duties as assigned.

The worker is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions: exposed to changing weather, noise, cold and wet conditions.

• Often requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks.
• Often requires standing for sustained periods of time.
• Occasionally requires stooping and reaching.
• Occasionally requires pushing using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.
• Occasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Lifting is required on an occasional basis.
• Repetitive motions involving substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Sitting for long periods of time.

Full-time position; work varies depending on load availability. Expected hours of work vary.

Extensive regional travel is required; some national travel required as needed.

• Valid Class A driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proven safe driving record.
• Excellent customer relations experience with internal and external customers.
• Results-oriented and passionate about the company's business and product line-up.
• Personal integrity, honesty and leadership by example.

• Knowledge of Samsara ELD system preferred.
• Minimum 5–10 years of driving experience.
