The industrialization engineer level 1 translates design intent into manufacturable process elements under the supervision of a senior engineer. He/she is also responsible for the deployment of industrial means, documentation, and validation of processes on the shop floor to realize product/manufacturing intent for NPIs, major design/process changes, and Transfers of Work projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop work instructions, routings, and tooling/fixture for industrialization activities.
- Build, adapt, and validate tools and fixtures per engineering specifications.
- Support pilots and sample builds. Manage shop-floor prototype logistics (materials, tooling, test readiness) in coordination with Manufacturing and Quality plans.
- Support creation of assembly/testing/inspection documentation.
- Conduct time studies, process mapping, collect production data, and propose layout/flow adjustments for engineer review.
- Support data analysis for cycle-time and quality improvements of NPI and existing production activities.
- Execute validation runs, document results, and implement approved changes on the line.
- Comply with EHS and quality requirements.
- Maintain 5S and point-of-use condition for all industrialization activities.
- Prepare content for industrial validation and first article deliverables.
- Assist with process trials, capability, and capacity checks.
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve manufacturability issues.
- Ensure adherence to internal industrialization processes and change-control practices.
- Interface with design engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and other Industrialization engineers.
- Evaluate drawings, specifications, and other data to determine requirements for process improvements, requirements, and capital equipment purchases.
- Advise, direct, and train production personnel in manufacturing techniques and methods.
- Review non-conforming products and develop corrective actions based on root cause analysis for industrialization projects.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Must be willing to work outside regular business hours as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
- 0-2 years of experience (internships, co‑ops, or projects in manufacturing preferred).
- Familiarity with drawings/GT&D, process documentation, and basic statistics.
- Software: MS Office, ERP/MES exposure; CAD familiarity is a plus.
- Ability to read/understand prints, routings, bill of materials, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software or the ability to learn.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with electromechanical or power electronics products.
- Understanding diverse manufacturing processes such as molding, machining, welding, and assembly.
- Strong project management skills.
- Knowledge of electronic/electrical specifications and standards (commercial and military).
- Root Cause and Corrective Action Methodology.
- Power Electronics – Electronics experience – PCB/PCBA manufacturing (SMT, selective soldering, conformal coating, testing, etc);
Design for manufacturing and assembly for electronics.

Work EnvironmentEqual split between office work and working on a production line. On‑site role with shop‑floor presence.
