Industrialization Design Engineer
Our client is seeking an Industrialization Design Engineer to support the introduction of new products into a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product transitions from development to production, with a strong focus on manufacturability, process optimization, and documentation.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with manufacturing equipment, processes, and machines, with a strong focus on optimizing performance and ensuring products are built efficiently and correctly.
Key Responsibilities- Support new product introduction (NPI) efforts by helping transition products from development into manufacturing
- Work directly on the production floor to support manufacturing processes and equipment
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability (DFM/DFA)
- Help define and support equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements, including setup and validation
- Assist in prototype builds and pilot production activities
- Troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes to drive efficiency and quality
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and cost-reduction efforts
- Support cross-functional teams to ensure production readiness across multiple projects
- Maintain and develop documentation related to manufacturing processes and product builds
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (Mechanical preferred)
- 0–2 years of experience; internships or co-ops in manufacturing environments strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, machinery, or production environments
- Exposure to machine operation, programming, or automation (e.g., CNC, 3D printing, CAM, or similar) is a strong plus
- Experience working from engineering drawings to execute builds or processes
- Familiarity with CAD tools (Solid Works, AutoCAD, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical or process-related issues
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, floor-based role rather than a desk-only environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Background in electronics or PCB assembly (PCBA) manufacturing
- Experience with coating, printing, or precision application processes
- Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Understanding of manufacturing methodologies such as DFMA or PFMEA
- Opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing processes and equipment
- Exposure to new product introduction (NPI) in a production environment
- Ability to develop skills in process optimization, equipment operation, and manufacturing engineering
- A collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation
