Technical Support - Mammography Equipment

Responsibilities

• Provides national level technical support to HCUS personnel via telephone and on-site visits.
• Provides remote troubleshooting and diagnostic analysis via phone and email, with a 15‑minute response time for service calls.
• Supports sales and marketing teams with product promotion.
• Prepares and disseminates information to HCUS personnel to improve their use of MG products.
• Approves FDA‑2579 submissions for MG installations or certified component replacements.
• Assists with training classes under senior technical support guidance.
• Participates in installations to roll out new MG products and continuously works to improve processes and customer experience.
• Assists with field service work as needed.
• Maintains excellent working relationships with HCUS personnel across departments.
• Works overtime and odd hours, including last‑minute callouts.
• Travels extensively to customer sites to resolve problems.
• Analyzes, evaluates, diagnoses, and resolves complex equipment problems within a minimal time frame.
• Ensures compliance with all safety practices and quality procedures.
• Promotes the image and reputation of HCUS internally and externally.
• Performs additional duties as directed by the Manager of National Technical Support.
• Complies with all applicable FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulatory requirements.

Experience

• At least five (5) years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting MG equipment, or at least three (3) years of HCUS Service experience with demonstrated proficiency in MG.
• Capable of operating all test equipment required to service MG equipment.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college—preferably in an electronics‑related discipline—or equivalent experience.

Special Skills or Other Job Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to provide national‑level technical support in MG.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Soldering proficiency desired.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Self‑motivated and willing to travel and work long hours.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Significant travel required.

• Standing/Walking – Occurs frequently and repeatedly.
• Sitting – Occurs frequently and repeatedly, includes driving to customer sites and flying.
• Lifting/Carrying – Occurs infrequently and periodically; light hand tools, tool bag, 1–20 lb. cabinet covers, 5–60 lb. diagnostic equipment, 1–75 lb. replacement components.
• Pushing/Pulling – Occurs rarely and periodically; primarily pushes 700–1000 lb. mammography gantries.
• Bending – Occurs occasionally and periodically in the low back during varied tasks.
• Reaching – Occurs rarely and periodically above the shoulders to access components and cupboards; occasionally below shoulder level for various tasks.
• Kneeling/Crawling/Crouching – Occurs occasionally and periodically, mainly during wiring or accessing lower MG panels.
• Climbing – Occurs rarely and periodically when climbing up to 3 steps of a 6‑foot ladder to access upper MG panels.
• Balancing – Occurs rarely and periodically when standing on the ladder.
• Twisting – Occurs rarely and periodically in the low back.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time may be required based on business need.
