Summary/ObjectiveReporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Buyer/Planner will assist with planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle. The successful candidate for this position has experience in the manufacturing industry, a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts, and is highly effective collaborating with internal colleagues as well as external stakeholders (vendors).
Essential Functions- Create replenishment plans (schedules) to maintain targeted inventory objectives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Vendors and other Planners to monitor product movement and achieve the replenishment plan within the desired timeframe.
- Schedule all assigned machining work centers weekly and diligently adjust schedules within the week as needed based on ERP system recommendations.
- Place Purchase Orders with Vendors promptly and as recommended by the EPR system to meet inventory targets in support of internal production.
- Regularly follow up with Vendors to status purchase orders and their confirmed delivery to SSP.
- Support Customer Service by providing lead times for assigned items in support of Customer quotes and orders.
- Routine data gathering, analysis and metric reporting on a weekly / monthly basis.
- Support Item Master set up and maintenance within the ERP system.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- The ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions of the business.
- Adaptable personality with strong organization and time management skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (formula writing and Macro programming a plus).
- ERP/MRP systems understanding (configuration, parameters, and data connections).
- Creative and Curious mindset who enjoys the opportunity to ask questions and solve problems.
- Optimistic and able to thrive in a fast paced environment.

- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year College or university (preferred).
- Minimum of 1-3 years working in a manufacturing environment required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years working in a planning, scheduling, or purchasing role required.
- ERP/MRP software experience is highly desirable.
- Office environment plus manufacturing/shop environment.
- Day hours, 40 hour normal work week.
- Occasional travel to suppliers.
- Frequent walking/standing in a production environment.
