Job OverviewThe Director, Production will ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently through the management of production processes, planning and organizing production schedules, assessing project and resource requirements, and ensuring that health and safety regulations are met. The Director will oversee the organization of repair and routine maintenance of production equipment in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, supervise the work, and lead relevant training sessions.
The Director also coordinates the activities of the production, maintenance, and quality assurance departments to ensure effective execution of the weekly production schedule and ensures the effective utilization of resources including staffing, equipment, and materials.
- Conduct daily line performance review meetings with representatives from all departments to ensure production KPIs are met and to identify potential issues impacting productivity.
- Prioritize maintenance work orders in conjunction with the maintenance manager and support team meetings to address issues that affect production line performance.
- Collaborate with the Product Supply Planning team to manage raw material inventory and production schedules and ensure that production is scheduled in such a manner as to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Conduct daily reviews and ensure production is scheduled to avoid out‑of‑stock situations by resolving any issues as to consumer complaints and customer feedback; ensure cross‑functional communication within the plant is timely and effective and drives efficient and effective resolutions to deliver satisfaction to both internal and external customers.
- Review P&L statements weekly to ensure accuracy and manage the budget for all production supplies; review daily raw materials yield reporting, investigate and resolve inventory variances; review weekly labor reporting to manage labor and ensure overtime is minimized.
- Manage, lead, and motivate a team to deliver results by communicating company goals and deadlines, engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training, and implementing continuous improvement methods and embodying company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership.
- 3-5 years of food and beverage industry experience required.
- Experience supervising associates in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to plan and execute complex projects.
- Strong communication skills.
- Successful background in change management and building a winning culture.
- Successfully build cross‑functional relationships and have a strategic vision.
- Ability to lead, manage and develop a team.
- Advanced PC skills – MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Bachelor's degree (4 years).
- Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience.
Food Industry, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience may be acceptable.
