Material Handler - 1st Shift

Job Description

Recruitment for full-time manufacturing Material Handler Level 2. 1st Shift, M-F, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Starts at $18 per hour. Works in Shipping department.

Performs physical or administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing and distributing materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods against purchase orders or invoices. Maintains records. Lifts heavy items, may operate forklift. Prepares and maintains shipment records. Posts weights and shipping charges. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.

• Use documented work instructions and manufacturing execution systems for receiving, picking or delivering parts.
• Work with little direction; operate Powered Industrial Vehicles for loading, unloading, transferring materials.
• Assemble product as required, deliver material to production area, pick up waste, deliver finished product on a schedule.
• Assist with changeover, provide tools and materials, and give additional help to maintain standard work and flow.
• Provide overtime as an essential function (typically 8 hours per week, hours may vary).

• Problem solving.
• Reading and understanding written instructions and schematics.
• Using a computer to view, log, or find job‑related information.
• Self‑directed in a team environment.
• Safe use of Powered Industrial Vehicles, scanning devices and other material handling equipment.
• Use tools and equipment including hammers, cutters for wood, cardboard and plastics, forklifts and other motorized equipment.

• Minimum of High School Diploma/GED or 1 year of verified related experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required. No visa sponsorship.

• Typically requires a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
