Assemble finished product for shipment to customers.
Essential Functions- Assemble finished product that includes either valves and/or fittings.
- Cap finished parts as needed.
- Use hand tools for various assemblies, and appropriate measuring devices.
- Interpret shipping documents such as pick lists.
- Perform 5S in work area, ensuring a clean and organized work area.
- Enter customer order information into the Company’s computer system for recording labor time.
- May perform other necessary tasks in the warehouse/shipping as needed.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methods and tools to make work process improvements.
- Observe and apply department and company Safety policies and procedures.
- Additional tasks assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Computer data entry skills.
- Knowledge of SSP’s warehouse/shipping processes.
- Knowledge of Company products.
- Skill at eye‑hand coordination for assembly operations.
- Ability to read and understand Pick List and other customer order information.
- Basic math (add, subtract, multiply, etc.).
- Knowledge of Quality ISO procedures and Lean Standard Work.
- Warehouse/shipping work environment.
- May require extended work hours.
- Lifting and picking up boxes/totes (5 to 35 lbs.).
- Some exposure to cold with overhead shipping door(s) open for short periods.
- Extended periods of sitting at an assembly bench.
- Many hours standing/walking involved (10+).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Up to one year of light assembly experience preferred.
