Clean Room Extrusion Operator (3rd Shift)
The Clean Room Extrusion Operator works in a highly regulated clean room environment, operating automated rubber and silicone extrusion equipment to produce medical-grade tubing used in life-saving applications. This is a 3rd shift role (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday) with a contract-to-hire pathway, offering hands-on production work in a fast-paced, FDA-compliant setting. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and half.
We are looking for individuals to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Operate rubber and silicone extrusion machines in a clean room, FDA-regulated environment.
- Feed silicone and rubber materials into extrusion equipment according to established procedures.
- Cut extruded tubing and products to precise sizes based on detailed work instructions and specifications.
- Package finished products and prepare them for final packaging and shipment.
- Follow documented work instructions to set up and prepare machines for each tubing run, including changeovers.
- Perform machine changeovers as trained to support different product types and production requirements.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while meeting daily output and quality goals.
- Lift materials and products weighing up to 40–50 pounds as needed throughout the shift.
- Conduct in-process quality checks on products being run to ensure they meet all standards.
- Perform visual inspections of tubing and components to identify defects or nonconformities.
- Complete required documentation and production records accurately and legibly.
- Stand at the machine for the entire shift while monitoring continuous production runs.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and FDA-compliance procedures at all times.
- Adhere strictly to clean room protocols, personal protective equipment requirements, and safety rules.
- Support production goals by following instructions closely and communicating any issues or deviations promptly.
- Be available to work full shifts on Saturdays when production needs require additional coverage.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to operate production machinery or equipment in a factory setting.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for cutting and measuring product.
- Comfort working in a clean room environment with strict GMP and FDA compliance requirements.
- Ability to follow detailed written work instructions and standard operating procedures to meet production goals.
- Capability to lift up to 40–50 pounds and stand on your feet for the entire 8-hour shift.
- Willingness to work 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., Sunday–Thursday) and occasional Saturdays as needed.
- Ability to perform visual inspections and basic quality checks on products.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with continuous machine operation.
- Reliability and attention to detail in completing documentation and maintaining product quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a clean room or sterile production environment is a plus.
- Experience with injection molding or extrusion machines is highly beneficial.
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or other FDA-regulated industries is an advantage.
- Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environments and compliance requirements.
- Mechanical inclination and interest in learning more advanced extrusion technician skills.
- Openness to wearing a clean room suit, hair net, and beard net if applicable.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small, highly technical production team across multiple shifts.
