Shifts
:
Day — Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.;
Night — Monday to Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.

Summary / Objective

The AS9100 Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring machined components and fluid system assemblies meet AS9100, customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements. This role performs in-process and final inspections of precision-machined components, fittings, manifolds, valves, tubing assemblies, and related aerospace fluid system products. The inspector ensures compliance with aerospace standards, blueprint requirements, and quality management system procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process, first article (FAI), and final inspections of machined parts and fluid system assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, CMM, surface plate, thread gauges, vision systems, etc.).
  • Inspect materials and verify certifications (material test reports, heat treat, plating, coatings, etc.).
  • Perform visual inspections for surface finish, workmanship, and compliance to aerospace standards.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 QMS requirements.
  • Review and verify traceability documentation, lot control, and part marking.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Identify nonconformances and generate NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, RCCA).
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Review routers, travelers, and job packets for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure proper control of inspection status and segregation of nonconforming material.
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
  • Provide feedback to production and engineering regarding quality issues.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Required
    :
    High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Preferred
    :
    Experience with vision system operation and programming (e.g., Keyence, InGage).
  • Knowledge of fluid system components (valves, fittings, manifolds, tubing assemblies).
  • Experience in NADCAP-regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 standards.
  • 3+ years of inspection experience in a precision machining or aerospace manufacturing environment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Manufacturing / CNC machining shop environment

  • Regular use of precision measuring tools and detailed visual inspection of small parts
  • Exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals and mold-making materials in accordance with established safety procedures
