Job Overview

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QA Supervisor will be responsible for the daily operation of the QA Inspection and Gage Calibration areas. This position’s responsibilities include the following functional areas: product inspections, gage calibrations, evaluation of RMAs and NCMRs, coordinating multi-functional disposition of non-conforming product, training, performance management, policy development and implementation.

Essential Functions
  • Manages personnel including hiring, training, professional development, performance reviews, and coaching.
  • Works with leadership to ensure that individuals performing functions affecting quality are trained and demonstrate the appropriate skills and performance results.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and work instructions pertaining to the quality function.
  • Direct activities of assigned personnel to see that all parts are processed in a timely manner.
  • Maintains an effective action system to analyze nonconforming conditions and complaints.
  • Schedule Management Review Team (MRT) disposition meetings.
  • Support Calibration Lab Compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100.
  • Ensure and maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of the QA work area utilizing 6S
  • Maintain quality records.
  • Inspect and evaluate customer returns.
  • Inspect parts – Examples:
    First Piece Inspection, In process, Final Inspection, Auto-Inspection.
  • Collaborate with production to ensure timely inspections
  • Observe and apply department and company Safety policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Competency
  • Knowledge of Quality process maps and Lean Standard Work
  • Knowledge of inspection methods and tools
  • Basic shop math, through Algebra
  • Ability to Lead others
  • Ability to read blueprints, including GD & T
  • Attention to detail
  • High quality standards of work for both self and others
  • Teamwork skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing/metal working shop environment
  • Lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Working with a variety of measuring tools and metal parts (some sharp edges)
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and those to make molds
Entry Level Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical or advanced education, preferred
Entry Level Experience
  • 5 years Quality Assurance inspection in an industrial component manufacturing facility
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, preferred
  • 1 year supervisory or leadership experience, preferred
  • Experience in creating PPAPs, preferred
